MEET RIK DRAKE
Interviewer: You’ve had a long career in the music business.
Rik: (nods) Twenty-five years now.
Interviewer: To what do you attribute your success?
Rik: Only one thing: the devotion of my fans, to whom I’m infinitely grateful.
(The studio audience applauds loudly.)
Interviewer: Rik Drake is your stage name?
Rik: That’s right. I took it when I formed Wicked Dragons, as a drake is one form of dragon.
Interviewer: But the rest of the band didn’t follow suit.
Rik: Spoilsports.
Interviewer: You say that even now, after what happened?
Rik: To my everlasting grief. But as it is Wicked Dragons…well, you know what happened.
Interviewer: We do. Part of your journey has involved staying sober. I’ve heard that part of what happened was because you wanted the rest of the band to get sober too.
Rik: I wouldn’t say that. There were other problems.
Interviewer: Care to catch us up on those?
Rik: Sorry. I don’t comment on active police investigations.
Interviewer: Speaking of police investigations, is that when you met Detective Jessick Justix?
Rik: I did.
Interviewer: And Jessick Justix? Tell us—are you two in a relationship?
Rik: You can ask.
Interviewer: Will you answer?
Rik: No.
Interviewer: Last question. What’s next?
Rik: I never know. I take things one day at a time.
Interviewer: And Jessick Justix?
Rik: I never know. I take things one day at a time.
